| PRESS RELEASES – CONSECRATED SHROUD
Ever since the now distant year of 1988 when studies were carried out on the Consecrated Shroud kept in Turin, the Cloth was radium-dated as belonging to the Medieval era, leaving many people if not incredulous disconcerted and perplexed.
Amongst these people is Carlo Goldoni (Hematologist, Cultivator of the Consecrated Shroud coming from the Ricci School) who has often questioned himself on how to check the truthfulness of results obtained by radium-dating without having investigated the personality of the researchers and without having re-examined methods and calculations applied.
About two years ago, Carlo Goldoni, discovered that a Roman Chemist was able to date archeological Finds and also cellulose materials (paper, wood, spun vegetable cloths).
As Carlo Goldoni was determined to obtain some results in favour of the Consecrated Shroud dating, he immediately involved the well-known Consecrated Shroud expert Mario Moroni who is competent regarding the subject and who has much similar material available. Together with the latter Carlo Goldoni has started off a study program in order to be able to certify if this method (completely different from the radium-dating) could be considered reliable and applicable to dating of the Consecrated Shroud kept in Turin and to the Shroud of Oviedo.
The Chemist who is an expert regarding the subject is a Professor at the Sapienza University (Rome) Luigi Campanella, after having been contacted for this purpose and seeing the possibility of undertaking a scientific research suitable for his Institute adhered with enthusiasm to this initiative.
Professor Campanella has been offered samples already radium-dated also “not visible”.
Having taken vision of the results obtained, Carlo Goldoni and Mario Moroni consider that everything that Professor Campanella has presented to them after analysis executed with self-assured routine is sufficient to consider the Eminent Researcher perfectly qualified to try to date the Consecrated Shroud kept in Turin and the Shroud of Oviedo for which he logically and independently proposes himself.
While statements made by carbon expert Christopher Bronk Ramsey are appearing in press releases, Carlo Goldoni and Mario Moroni (with the consent of Professor Campanella) consider opportune making public, studies already made, whilst a formal request for dating the Finds with the new method will be made officially to His Eminence the Cardinal Guardian of the Consecrated Shroud and will be eventually conveyed to the Santa Sede.
Such a request is however, already well known as the applicants belong to the CIS (Consecrated Shroud International Centre) in Turin.

| C O M U N I C A T O S T A M P A – SINDONE -
Da quando dal lontano 1988 gli studi compiuti sulla Sindone di Torino hanno radiodatato il tessuto come attribuibile all’epoca Medievale, molti sono rimasti se non increduli sconcertati e perplessi.
Tra essi Carlo Goldoni (Medico Ematologo, cultore di studi Sindonici, proveniente dalla scuola del Ricci) si è spesso domandato come poter verificare la veridicità dei risultati espressi dalla datazione al radiocarbonio senza indagare sul carattere dei personaggi Autori della ricerca e senza ricontrollare metodiche e calcoli effettuati.
E’ venuto a conoscenza, circa due anni or sono, che un chimico romano era in grado di datare reperti archeologici e di natura cellulosica (carta, legno e tessuti vegetali).
Deciso ad ottenere qualche risultato a favore della datazione Sindonica ha subito coinvolto il noto Sindonologo Mario Moroni competente in materia e avente a disposizione numerosi materiali similari. Con quest’ultimo ha avviato un programma di studi atto a certificare se il metodo (completamente diverso dalla datazione al radiocarbonio) potesse essere considerato attendibile per essere applicato alla datazione della Sindone di Torino ed al Sudario D’Oviedo.
Il chimico esperto in materia è il cattedratico dell’Università La Sapienza (Roma) il Prof. Luigi Campanella che, contattato a riguardo, vedendo la possibilità di una ricerca scientifica adatta al Suo Istituto ha aderito con entusiasmo a questa iniziativa.
Al Professore sono stati proposti campioni già radiodatati anche “in cieco”.
Visti i risultati ottenuti Goldoni e Moroni ritengono che quanto il Professor Campanella ha loro presentato eseguendo analisi con routinaria sicurezza sia bastante a considerare l’Eminente studioso perfettamente qualificato a tentare la datazione della Sindone di Torino e del Sudario D’Oviedo per i quali logicamente e autonomamente si propone.
Mentre compaiono su numerosi comunicati stampa le dichiarazioni del carbonista Christopher Bronk Ramsey, Goldoni e Moroni (consenziente il Professor Campanella) ritengono opportuno rendere pubblico lo studio effettuato mentre sarà ufficializzata formale richiesta di datazione dei reparti con il nuovo metodo a Sua Eminenza il Cardinale Custode della Sindone per essere eventualmente trasmessa alla Santa Sede.
Tale richiesta è del resto già conosciuta in quanto i richiedenti appartengono al CIS (Centro Internazionale Sindone) di Torino.
